What is the highest overclock that anyone has done on this board RIIE on air cooling?

I've got 4.8Ghz off my rig quite comfortably but I have a Domino ALC on the CPU. (which is like a very good air cooler).. Not even tried to push it further..

I tend to leave it at 4.2 > 4.5 for general use and it seems fine .. but as above I am not on air cooling.

well... when I say comfortably .. I mean scathingly close to the max voltage. although it boots and runs fine at 4.8Ghz I didn't attempt prime on it and didn't particularly tax it in any way .. so not a truely stable attempt at 4.8Ghz..

4.5Ghz is the highest 'Stable' attempt I have made

How 'bout sharing those bios settings :santa:
Do you know what your batch# was on the cpu?

AI overclock set to manual..

BClk Set to 160

Multi Set to 28

Voltage set to auto which comes out at 1.42v

Then the usual settings to stop the Multi dropping by disabling C1E, TM etc

Will edit with screen dumps of CPUz, Probe2 and TurboV when I get back home (in work at the mo).

ps. don't know batch number, but am trying to find that out for you .

218 blck tops so far.
Here at 215 http://www.ocforums.com/showpost.php?p=6238377&postcount=1248
I'll be doing some more experimenting this weekend now that's cooler here so far.
Wouldn't mind some shortcuts in QPI-Dram voltage and DRAM REF voltage settings.
Sorry I didn't record the scaling of the ram. I'll run some up this weekend. But for 90bux? Not too bad.
I don't know what part is holding back at 218 yet. Cpu, board, ram, not enough voltage, too much voltage, etc.? Most likely ram seeing that I can do 218x21, doesn't boot at 220. 220x19=no boot also. So what do ya think? Could be memory controller too..

Is this right?
Nevermind the excessive as5.
Notice the hs/waterblock isn't even touching the outer part of the cpu's.
No wonder one of the cores is warmer than the others.

2 different cpu's look like this.
I think it's has something to do with the backplate on the otherside of the socket.

Any solutions or suggestions?

I'm so sorry for being neglectful on this thread.
Haven't been benching it cuz of the hot weather.
Torr, Welcome to the Forum!:welcome: http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=491697
It's this ram http://www.frys.com/product/5838173?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
But now I'm using the Corsair's http://www.frys.com/product/5839543?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG
But I'm sure the Crucials would do the same.
SuperDave, Apogee GTZ w/b. No lapped cpu,,,, yet. From what I've been told by someone that knows better, it's normal. So I'm not going to worry about it. My temps are good to go.

You will just love the board, it is one of the most powerfull and forging X58 boards on the market. I would suggest you set your 920 at 21 x 190 (HT enabled) with 1.35 vcore, 1.64 VDIMM or wherever the default is, leave all the rest of the voltages on auto and I bet you you will be stable at 4Ghz.

Unlike some boards auto on this board is more than just a shot in the dark, you can safely set it on auto without having a Vtt at 1.5 that is somewhat hight for starters.

The board is very tolerant to "unstable" OC profiles and will almost always boot irrespective of your settings (within limits off course, 230 x 21 will need more than 1.35v ;))

It also boots nice and fast unlike some X58 boards that seem to take forevere to get to Win load screen.

Have fun and good luck :)

Sheet my P6t-Delux V2 boots to desktop in 60seconds or less, this is hardly forever lol
