Replacing TIM on ACX Cooler

This might be a stupid question... Forgive me

I recently bought a used 780ti Classified w/ Backplate. I also got a tube of GC Extreme for my CPU, and it's a lot of it.

Would the temperature change for swapping TIM on the Classy cooler be worth it? Would I additionally need new thermal pads, as well? Or should I just save the extra TIM for when/if I watercool the Classy down the line?
