Hi guys,

Hoping I can shed some light on an issue I am having with my new PC build. I build this about a month ago and since doing so have found it to be extremely slow when launching programs (Can take up to 1 minute to open Firefox or other programs) or trying to create new files when in programs (specifically in Adobe CC). The PC runs everything incredibly quickly WHEN it's open, but the process of the computer actually opening it seems to be insanely slow.

I have also noticed that when I first turn the computer on it is lightning fast and operates as it should, opening programs in half a second, but the longer it is turned on the slower things get, and if i were to leave it on overnight, by the morning things take forever to load to the point of it being unbearable. This surely isn't something I should have to worry about when I've just forked out what I have to build it!?

I am assuming this must be a hardware issue if its happened since day 1 of the build, and the fact that I have noticed a distinct difference in speed over time running makes me think it is either
a. a RAM issue, either a fault or memory leak,
b. A power supply issue?
c. A CPU problem with overheating or something maybe? I am currently running the CPU at 4100mhz OC because when i had it at ootb settings it was even slower, by OC'ing it i at least have the system running as i feel it should run most of the time, it sits around 60 degrees consistently.

Please help!

I have already begun running a few tests...

here is the CPU Validation report - https://valid.x86.fr/mv5f3l
here is my most recent 3dMark results - https://www.3dmark.com/spy/4425710
here is a screenshot of the memory usage breakdown - https://pasteboard.co/HEgBjrH.png
And I have been running read and write tests on my samsung SSD with Samsung magician (these results are after fresh boot, i will do second tests after 12 hours and 24 hours running)- https://pasteboard.co/HEiIbya.png

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry I realise this post should probably be in General Hardware!

Judging by that pic (not familiar wih the SW) but if it's accurate something is definitely chewing up your memory resources. You're going to have to start investigating to find what software is doing it

Hmmm, is there any way to figure out what that could be? Other than loading up the scanner and looking what I had posted I'm not sure what else I can do to investigate!

honestly id just reinstall windows if its an option something wrong is going on, open task manager and post a screenshot of the processes tab arranged by memory highest first.

Through task manager, resources, you should be able to trace back the services/programs that are spawning handles uncontrollably and not closing them. You can also disable those service it just takes time to track them down.

I found this page that goes through some problem solving and solutions. All of it takes time but will be beneficial https://windowsreport.com/memory-leak-windows-10/
