Scythe Mugen-2 Rev.B (SCMG-2100) - Metal Backplate?

I noticed the Scythe Mugen-2 Rev.B (SCMG-2100) uses a metal backplate. How does this not short out the solder on the back of the motherboard??

What kind of MB is it for? My cpu backplate had some kind of insulator tape on it, and it never came close to any of the little pins on back of MB.

my backplate from the heatsink mount touches the backplate of the Motherboard, fit's nicely. Yours should be fine, fits the same way.

the backplate rests on the metal surround...or that's how it is on intel

I bought it anyway and the backplate has a firm foam pad, 3-4mm thick on one side. Not very strong though - the metal bowed a little when I was tightening it to the CPU using default tension. If anyone else had the same issue I wouldn't mind hearing about it..
