Kidding...that said, when I sell drives, I typically just format/secure erase them. I dont store passwords on the system so anything more than that feels like overkill (until it isnt).
A single overwrite pass makes it non-trivial to try to recover anything. If someone still wants to get your data after being overwritten, you probably have bigger problems to worry about. IMO a 3 pass wipe is more than good enough for normal people.
