So I acquired windows 8.1 the other day. Since then I've had constant issues. the biggest being IT FREEZES ALL THE DAMN TIME. Anyways this happens when, watching videos, streaming videos and as of recent when starting full screen games. the second the os freezes everything stops, audio glitches(repeats the last note), no responsiveness on any commands (ctrl+alt+delete, windows key etc.), and I have to hard power-off my computer. I restart with no prompts or anything, like nothing happened. it happens 1-2 hours into watching any streaming sites or using netflix (metro app and browser) and after launching certain games (so far arma 2, LoL, dayz, deadspace 3)

any help is appreciated. As of now I'm just gonna put windows 7 back on my pc once I get my usb stick back. I have a boot ssd so I wont lose anything, but if there is a solution I'd love to hear it.

Try dropping your OC, it could just be unstable.

Started with dropping down to 4.6, then 4.4 now I'm at stock still getting issues. I put it at 4.4Ghz 1.475v and no oc on my ram and it's freezing which as you know is ridiculous even for a bad chip just to see and it still froze. I don't think it's my oc cause it's cool enough and I can play crysis3 without freezing it overheating. It's only certain games, and videos. I'll try clearing my cmos and seeing if that fixes it

A CMOS clear is always the best way to start (just save/write down settings first!) when you're tracing a stability issue.

Do you get any sort of error codes?
Does Event Viewer show anything?

No error codes at all, just freeze and then I reset it. It boots as normal. How can I check event viewer

Since this seems to only happen with video/games, have you tried reinstalling/updating/rolling back your GPU drivers?

that's the log from a crash I forced by opening and running league of legends

@E.D. I'll try that now

FIXED IT, graphics issue. re-installed catalyst drivers and it's all well

As you found, it was the driver.
Error on service 7034 means the code that starts and stops drivers has crashed.

Glad its fixed for you though :thup:

Likely not enough Vcore or core wall. Bummer!

Did you ever test your cores with Linpack?
