Hello, and I'm sure you all can tell that I am new to the forum.

I just recently finished a build that I am extremely proud of compared to some of my previous builds.
However, I'm having a really hard time getting the computer to boot properly.

I've got everything installed as it is supposed to be; everything from the motherboard to the LED fans for looks.
The AMD A8 Processor I bought has built in GPU (Radeon HD 8570D GPU) and I was told I could match the onboard GPU with another AMD PCIe GPU for better onboard graphics... I am having nothing but issues with this! I bought an AMD R7 240 XFX GPU 2.0GB and it will not work... It constantly boots and boots and boots and I get nothing but blue screens and STOP: Errors. The computer boots and runs perfectly without the graphics card inserted, so I suppose it is a GPU problem? This is the 2nd GPU I have tried to match with the onboard Radeon HD 8570D (The first one was a PNY graphics card which I read did not work with the select AMD Processor that I had...) Sorry for rambling... Just need help... Should I return my GPU and just run off of onboard? Or should I do something else???

Here are the specs of the build.

ASUS A88XM-PLUS CSM motherboard
1TB Western Digital HDD
AMD A-Series Black Edition A8 6600K 4.2GHz Turbo, 3.9GHz Base Processor
4GB PNY 1333Mhz RAM
Sentey 725W Power Supply
Cooler Master Seidon 120W CPU Liquid Cooling Unit
LG DVD Drive

There are only certain AMD video card chipsets that will work in Crossfire with the APU graphics. Here:

http://www.cpu-world.com/info/AMD/Recommended_graphics_cards_for_AMD_dual-graphics.html

Looks like the video cards that will work with your APU in crossfire mode are these two: HD 6570 and the HD 6670. It is possible however that there may be others as this info may be dated.

Alright, that's fair enough. However, I just got Windows 8.1 to install on the computer without the AMD R7240 Graphics Card. I'm running on JUST onboard graphics, and it seems that it runs okay UNTIL I run the updates... (Update includes the graphics card update for the onboard graphics that are built into my AMD A8 CPU!) When they begin to download and install, the computer crashes and it says that windows has ran into an error and needs to restart... The error was :MEMORY MANAGEMENT, then KMODE FAILED TO START....

I do not understand what is happening and why I am having such a difficult time getting my PC to run! I've never had issues like this before!

Constantly running in to Errors now... "System Service Exception"? Can not run Windows Internet Explorer... Must be something to do with graphics...

Don't install that particular update. Apparently it is buggy. There is an option in the Windows updater to hide updates you don't want to install. What you have encountered is very common with Microsoft updates, particularly the ones for hardware. It it's working fine, don't install the MS update for that component. About half the time it seems they cause problems rather than fixing them. Get the hardware updates from the component manufacturer. In this case, go to AMD's website and get the latest driver for the APU video. As I recall, there is a particular order to installing APU drivers but the particulars escape me at the moment. I ran into it when I was doing a fresh install of Windows 7 on my AMD APU powered laptop. Check their forum.

Just reinstalled Windows, and gave it ANOTHER shot. I did not install updates (graphics card or any) and went straight to the AMD Driver Download for the latest driver... Got the download, and began to install and Windows crashed... Again...

Do you have the driver disk that came with the motherboard? If so, as soon as you get Windows installed before adding any updates, pop the disc into the CD/DVD drive and install all the chipset drivers on the disc. Then install Windows updates but uncheck any hardware updates.

Also, I note you are using 1333 mhz ram. Go into bios and make sure the memory frequency is set to that manually. 1333 mhz is slower than what is typically employed with those APUs.

Bed time for me now.
