Sitting a fan on my GPU?

I just installed my Hyper 212+ (dropped my temperatures by nearly 15C - **** yeah!), and I want to put my old heatsink's fan on my GPU. I have no screws for it, so I can't mount it anywhere on my case.

What I'm wondering is if it will hurt my GPU to sit a fan on top of it - not the side with the shroud, but the other side, with all little metal things. I have a Radeon HD 4890 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161276 - not that, but close). I want to sit it on the little X-shaped thing.

I've never heard of it being done, and the vibration from the fan can't be be good for the card. I would mount it so that is blows along the card from the side, not blowing on the back.
