Hi again folks!!

As much as I've tried to resist anything bleeding edge, am giving in and setting out on the quest for globals.

Since I can't really swing a monster 5960x build, found a 6+GHz 6700k. Will be matching it up with an asrock z170 oc formula.

So...now I'm looking for a pair of excellent ddr4 benching sticks. These will definitely not be used for 24/7 or anything like that....strictly for 2d/3d beatdowns.

How are the hyperx fury 3200's? See a set with the following description: "Binned each stick at 3200mhz 12-15-15-28-280-1t super tight 2nd and 3rds"

Would those be the ones to grab or are there other sticks that might be better for what I'm going for?

Bought a set of these Funsoul, I haven't had much time to play with them but they'll do 3600 at 16-18-18-36 1.45v.

This Ripjaws V 3200 kit is pretty good. Skylake generally performs best on current IC at about 3600 and as tight timings as you can. If you have luck then maybe 3733 too but in general above 3600 you have to relax timings.
Samsung is also easier to OC. Hynix may cause issues above 3200.
On mentioned Ripjaws V 3200 kit I was able to pass 4000 but a lot depends from motherboard and BIOS.

Last time when I was using it for benching then I could set something like 3733 15-18-18 1.5V.

I have some memory kits but shipping costs will kill the price and at the end will be cheaper to buy it from newegg or something.

Ok...just to try and avoid ending up with as much ddr4 as ddr3.

This build is only for going after globals (2d and 1x, 2x vga 3d). Won't be a gamer (not enough pci-e lanes for me) or *eek!* surfenboxen.

When I get comfortable (and my cooling hardware's back), the idea is to use a combination of ln2, cascade and ss to freeze cpu, vga and ram.

Would that change the recommendation? I'd rather pay a bit more now than have to upgrade later to gain those extra positions.

Right now anything 2x4GB Samsung 3200+ at low timings is the best but soon should be available new Hynix and Samsung IC ( weeks, months ? ). Anyway best seems ~3600-3866 at tight timings so something like in post #3.

Right now I have 9 or 10 DDR4 kits at home ... time to sell some of them.
