some games dont see the full 8 gigs of vram on my rx480

Should I be concerned?

Total War Rome II only sees 3074 megs of vram on my 8192 meg card.

runs fine, but I have never seen a game that doesn't see the full amount.

I cant answer your question but I can tell you that Heavan benchmark does the same thing. 8gb card reports as 4gb.

Turns out its completely normal.

The game/benchmark weren't designed when that much vram was common. So they just didn't need to support it all.

Yeah, normal. Either the game was designed to take advantage of that much VRAM, or not. If not, it will only use the max amount of VRAM it was programmed for. Even with 3GiB of ram, I have some older games that never use more then 1GiB.
