System display keeps freezing

ive recently upgraded my computer, and since my display/computer keeps freezing for no apparent reason. ive tryed taking out each memory chip in turn incase its the memory but no improvement. ive tryed an asus radeon 9600se and still the same. Could it be a faulty motherboard ? here is my pc spec.

what power supply do you have?

does it happen only in windows or does it also freeze if you run DOS based stress testers?

Do you have the most up-to-date drivers? XPSP2? (although 1 is just as good...)

and a good processor/mobo?

yeh most up 2 date drivers and a 300watt power supply

it ight be a case of your psu not being strong enough to power the system under load
