So with my idle temps being 96F CPU / 105F system with an ambient that never goes about 80F does anyone else think it's just a case of the system temp being skewed by the closeness of the CPU HSF? It wouldn't seem possible that the CPU could be 10F LESS than the system under normal circumstances.

Oh, I agree with your conclusion... It's definetly a scewed senser.
