I managed to hit a stable 2937 MHz with a first gen Phenom and idle temps in the mid 30s (10 over ambient) on air. I've hit 3038 , but temps were pretty high and it wasn't stable. Current settings http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2419969 and personal best so far http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2400472
Note the CPU voltage on both-3038 MHz on less than stock CPU VID! Currently stable with a .012 DCV bump. I owe it all to this forum and the smart folks who frequent it. Next (baby) step is a Phenom II and WC! Or maybe I'll see if I can screw up my RAM timings! I'm developing the confidence to do some serious damage now....

Thanks for the update and the encouragement is always appreciated.

Thank you. What I've accomplished has been just from reading other's threads. This is turning into an addiction , but it's better than some other habits I've had over the years.

I heard that man. Your overclock on that early phenom is darn good and about the most that many could get. Those early Phenoms just did not do a lot more.

Congrats and good luck to you. RGone...ster.
