it IS pure laziness from the devs.

There is likely a small team dedicated to creating updates for Skyrim; to completely integrate DX11 into Skyrim would require the focus of a much larger portion of their staff. Bethesda is a business, and thus it must make a profit and support its employees. They don't have the resources to spend so much time on a game that they've already made their profits on. They have other release dates to meet and other patches to make.

Funny you say its impossible to give DX11 Support...EVE online was developed in...a LONG time ago, and they are adding DX11 options...soon to be fully integrating it into the game. as of right now, it IS pure laziness from the devs.

Pick up a keyboard and try and convert a simple DX9 game to DX11 and repeat that statement. Eve is a continually evolving online world that is regularly under development. Such is the way of any MMORPG worth playing. Given the level of complexity of bethesdas game engine converting to DX11 is about (absurd number here) times more difficult than converting a simple title. They consciously chose DX9 to serve the largest possible customer base. Besides with textures and settings tweaks skyrim looks fantastic, why mess with something that isn't broke.

I agree, though, that AAA titles can not, nor really should, put a huge part of their budget into post-release updates. Would I like it if they did? Of course, but I completely understand why/how they can't.

I started Skyrim again the other day since all of my old saves got wiped out (forgot to back up) when I got new computer and one thing is driving me crazy.

I can't figure out how to bind my 1H weapons when I dual wield which are the same two weapons. I add them from inventory to favorite and when I got to quick tab I bind them but soon as I equip something else like a spell to one hand I can't reequip both weapons back.

What is the deal with that, is there an actual way to do this?

Okay so I want to get back into Skyrim, I want to play with mods but I don't care for installing a ridiculous amount. I would like only two types of mods:

- UI Tweak
- Graphics Enhancement

Can someone recommend me the best of those two types of mods?

There are so many worthy graphics mods since they are usually very specific in what they change. I listed just a few I like below, but there are many more that change specific small details that when used all together, it makes everything look so much better. For example, mod that changes only the texture of gold pieces or the texture of paper or the texture of signs or adds sunglare or adds better storm sounds, etc. So, you really have to look for mods that change specific things and try to hit on everything you can think of...

All mods are Steam compatible, but not all mods are available on the Steam Workshop.

One mod that's only available on the Steam workshop that I must have is Dragon Bone Weapons Complete.

Anyone still playing? I'm getting back into it with the release of Dragonborn and in particular, the new patch (1.9). I'm playing on Legendary difficulty level and have found that I'm going to have to develop some real strategies. Since the difficulty increase, I'm actually using health pots.

Yeah, I do the same thing whenever I play...Happened with Baldur's Gate 2, Fallout 1 and 2, and all the other rpg's I played xD
I'm currently playing Ragnarok Online with my pentium 4 rig, waiting for my new 3770k.
I'll continue playing it of course, but having newer hardware might make me install Skyrim again.

LOL. There are a few things about skyrim that I don't like. One of the is that whoever came up with the weapon weights was on steroids....a 2-handed warhammer weighing 27 pounds....really? A basic 1-handed axe weighing 10 pounds....WHAT?

Another is that it ships with some of the worst textures in any game since 07. Seriously...Oblivion's were better in many cases. Luckily, when modded, it's graphics compare with BF3.

The game also doesn't have any locational damage...so seeing bandits walking around with arrows sticking from their faces is an everyday occurrence. There's also a Locational Damage mods to fix that.


And this adequately describes the most overpowered combo in the game (sneak + archery). That said, the AI is nothing short of moronic. There are mods to fix that as well.
