Hey guys. I am in the process of building a new rig with new external WC setup.
Going for phobya xtreme nova 1080rad and radbox with 8x180mm fan(4 each side push/pull).

So I wanted to splice all the fan wires together and have them going into 1 dial on the radbox to control all the fans in one go, rather than having to have them all on a separate control..Then one power cable going fro the dial back to the rear of the case and plugging into this..

Do you think this dial will work for it?

Wondering if this plan should work?
Any other suggestions will also be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

Will need the fan specs, more specifically how many amps your fans use.

If you are using the 180mm phobya fans, they are .3 amps each. Eight of them would be well within the 8amp limit of the dimmer you listed.

0.13amp each I think. The standard phobya white 180mm fans.

So you reckon the idea would work? Was reading that dimmers don't work for fan controls cause they are ac but as this is dc I thought it would.

Would be great if it did. Would tidy everything up and make life simple.

Will have my pump run off the PWM fan controller on the mobo so that should take care of that and I can then dial my fans right down when not gaming and then turn up as need be.

Double wattage for fannage startup. But the Mosfet etc only see's the wattage for a second or two. Goog controller with soe airflow, should be okay. Still, it's a performance world.

Dig VERY deep for start wattage, you will be surprised.

Maybe two controllers, and they will start at less than the 100% that the fan can do, you only need max at gamng etc. So maybe the one will be enough. I wouds space ti through 3 knobs, one per 3 fans..........

It's a Jello answer. Get what you need, if too much water, add another controller or more Jello.
