I don't have any free USB2 headers on my motherboard, so I was wondering if I could connect my H100i directly into a real USB port. I would assume that it would work just fine, as motherboard pins are basically the same things, but I wouldn't want a fried CPU cooler :) Has anyone tried this?

I haven't tried it, but don't see it being an issue. USB is the same whether from a header or port.

It should work .I never thought of that but i see no reason why it wouldnt.

Noticed your using MX-4. Im using MX-4 to on my H80i and its working much better than the stuff it came with.Im seeing almost a 5 to 7c drop in temps after switching.I noticed your sig thats why i mentioned the MX-4
