Can't find an answer to this one when I google it.

Some of the bootable USB sticks that show up in the bios boot order list Have "PMAP" at the end of the volume descriptor.

What does this stand for? Partition Map maybe?

My google-foo is no better. Neither was Bing any help. I'm curious too.

On a search for "pmap usb drive controller" I found https://github.com/brandonlw/Psychson/issues/4 That thread has multiple occurrences of
Code:
Query Product Revision: PMAP

It seems to be associated with Phison controllers so I'd guess that the P in PMAP is Phison and refers to a hardware/firmware revision of their USB controller chip.
