So this is my first build and i have been trying to figure out what PSU to get. Im not sure which brands are the most reliable but i was thinking of something like a 1000w supply.
My build includes:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/sectors/...40EF-A65C-847A43A89093&Desc=Computer Build #1 (not sure if the link will work)

ASUS P8Z77-V PRO Intel 7 Series Motherboard ( http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2291301&Sku=A455-2036 )

Corsair Vengeance CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10B 16GB Desktop Memory Module Kit ( http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7487099&Sku=C13-9998 )

Intel Core i5-3570K BX806237i53570K Processor ( http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2373004&Sku=I69-3570K )

Kingston SH103S3/120G HyperX 120GB Solid State Drive ( http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2416662&Sku=K24-2107 )

Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 CPU Cooler for Intel ( http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3323592&Sku=N126-1028 )

Thermaltake VN300M1W2N Chaser MK-I Full Tower Gaming Case ( http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=419876&Sku=T925-3082 )

Seagate ST3000DM001 Barracuda 7200.14 Hard Drive ( http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1310560&Sku=TSD-3000AS2 )

Zotac GeForce GTX 680 Video Card ( http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2585874&Sku=Z700-0674 )

i have kind of decided on the PSU Thermaltake Smart Series SP-1000M Cooling Fan ( http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2543340&CatId=2535 ).

I have been looking around and was wondering if the one i have chosen is reliable. i know it will be enough power for OCing and running a large water cooling system.

i stumbled upon a Ultra X4 Modular 1050-Watt ATX Power Supply V2 ( http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1583413&CatId=5442 ) and was wondering if it would be better for cable management since the way the plugs are and if i should go with this PSU.

Just wanted to get some inputs.
Thanks for the replies. :D

Do you plan on going sli in the future? If not, a 650w is plenty. If you go SLI go 750w.

Corsair is always a quality brand.

Yes i do plan to use sli in the future. so a 1000w is to much you think? i just would rather have more than enough power is the way i was looking at it. so the corsair brand would be the way to go over the thermaltakes and others?

750w is more than enough.. yes.

In this section is a psu guide... Check that out, but corsair is good across its line. From average to great its CX, GS, TX, AX.. ;)

well that's a little creepy, you pretty much described the system i'm looking to build.

Haha. yeah i saw a post from you about the case and thought the same thing. Im doing blue and black. Eventually im going to put a blue and black WC loop in it too. Guess we both have the same interest in looks. it should turn out to be a great and really nice build for us both. I think i might try to change the fans on the NH-D14 to some sort of black or blue. Not to big into the tan and brown color they come as. :D Had the idea about a month ago and ordered the case. I just keep ordering parts as i go. All that's needed now is the hard drives and graphics card. The psu and memory should get here this week sometime. :) I think it looks amazing and once finished ill post pictures. Would love to see yours when you are complete too!

There are some pretty good PSUs for sale in the classified section here, just make sure you have enough quality posts.

Thank you! I love the case since it has an aggressive gaming look and has plenty of space.

So is your System up and running ??

you should Post a Pic hhhhh

Yeah its up and running. Just need graphics card, one more hard drive, and another cpu cooler along with some fans to be completely finished untill i go to water. haha so not pic ready yet.

If there's one thing I could do again, it would be to get a fully modular supply. Easier to sleeve, easier to cable-manage.

I'd personally recommend the AX 850(i if you want it). Gold/platinum cert, fully modular, more than enough power to last you any future upgrades for the next 5+ years.
