Which is better ? 4x512 or 2x1GB

Hey guys I plan on overclocking. I was just courious which would perform better ?


I planed on getting 4 x 512MB of OCZ VX PC4000.


Would 2 x 1GB of the Crucial BallistiX be better ?

Crucial Ballistix seem to OC very well. I would go for the 2x1G if getting 2G. Just makes more sense to me. I dont know if one out performs though. = )

Take it from someone who has 4X512. Get the 2X1gb. At least then if you ever want more then 2gb you can still upgrade.

With 4x 512 you may run into OCing problems (some boards hate 4 dimms) plus you will have to use 2T. Get the Ballistix.

2x1GB = 1T configuration
4x512MB = 2T configuration

1T>2T

Ballistix run great at lower vdimm, ie 2.9v, so it should clock well.

yepp, they should do very well with 3-3-3 timings.
