Which Motherboard?

ASUS Crosshair IV Formula AM3 AMD
or
ASUS Crosshair IV Extreme AM3 AMD

I do not really know which one to choose. I am also up for other suggestions!

First off both the Crosshairs are excellent boards but the question is, What video are you going to use? The only good reason I know of for picking the Extreme over the Formula is to run multiple nVidia cards or mix nVidia and ATi cards using the Extreme's Hydra Technology. If you're not going to do that then, IMO, the Extreme is a waste.

There are a couple of other good options as well. The ASUS M4A89TD and Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5 are excellent 890FX boards and are less expensive than even the Crosshair Formula. Unless you're considering extreme cooling (LN2 or DIce) I'd look into these boards as well.

But given an unlimited budget I'd go with the Crosshair ...
