Win7, various small apps

Is it normal for the OS and newly loaded programs to load up in a fragmented way?

Does it matter?

Is it perhaps beneficial in some way that the programs are spread out on the hard drive when loading them, with a generous amount of space between them given?

After loading a fresh copy of Windows 7, all the updates for it, and a dozen or small applications onto a new computer build; I find by running Defraggler, that the hard drive is quite fragmented.

Yes its normal. It doesnt really matter. Just install what you need to and defrag it (assuming you dont have an SSD which you do not defrag).
