Hi guys, I have windows 7 Ultimate installed on a core I7 920 system and I'd like to know if there are ways of tweaking my system for the fastest possible performance.

My system is as follows,

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R Motherboard.
Intel Core I7 920 Quad core with hyper threading.
6 Gigs of Kingston ram.
2 Hard drives, One 160 gig primary WD, One 500 Gig WD storage.
Nvidia G-Force GTX 260 maxcore O/C Video card with 896 megs of ram.
Ultra 750 watt power supply.

If you need any more info just ask. I have a crappy factory cooler on the CPU so I won't even attempt to O/C the system now. I did setup the bios for the best possible performance as far as the QPI link and ram settings. Other than that I was looking for some windows tweaks that could boost performance.

Couldn't say, maybe disabling Aero theme. If you would have an SSD then theres a few settings to tweak.

Overclocking boosts your performance. Windows tweaks are more for how things look/feel.

They shouldn't be done unless you know exactly what you are doing and not before imaging your system so you can reimage it back if when you mess things up :)

Do not do this:
