Windows 8 or 7...

I am helping a friend buy a laptop, and there are some fantastic cyber monday deals on newegg, such as this:

but the one thing that scares me is windows 8. This computer will be used for photography, school, and general internet use, but will windows 8 clash with all of that, such as microsoft office? I don't want to get this only to find out it is incompatible with absolutely everything.

Windows 8 will work with everything that windows 7 will work with.

Alright. So basically the only thing we would have to worry about is downloading the drivers/updates for anything?
