So I've been making my own cables for my psu, and never thought about it until now but what size gauge wire should I be using for my 24 pin connector, what about my 6 pin connectors running to my graphics card? at the moment im using 18awg for everything but I assume thicker is better should I upgrade to 16AWG?

16 AWG: 0.004 ohm/ft
18 AWG: 0.0064 ohm/ft
20 AWG: 0.010 ohm/ft

#20 is the thinnest wire I've seen for ATX PSU cables.

I don't remember if #16 can be too fat to fit into some plastic shells, but I doubt there's any practical benefit to it, and it can make a 24-pin connector kind of stiff.

18 is OK for the 24P and for SATA.
16 is better for GPUs and Molex and CPU power IMO.
