Today I added some tests of Thermaltake ToughRAM DDR4-4400 CL19.

Here is also something from recent tests on HyperX Fury 2x32GB DDR4-3200 memory based on Micron B IC overclocked to 4500 CL18-26-26-46 1.50V

4500x.jpg

I'm working on full stability but I guess it will be something like DDR4-4400 19-26-26-46 1.45V.

Right now in tests are:
HyperX Predator 2x8GB 4266 / Samsung B
Patriot Viper 4 Blackout 2x32GB 3600 / Hynix M
Patriot Viper Steel 2x32GB 3600 / Hynix M
TG Dark Pro 2x16GB 3600 / Samsung B
GoodRam Iridium 2x16GB 3600 / Hynix C
G.Skill TridentZ Neo 2x8GB 3600 / Samsung B

If you wish any specific tests then please let me know soon as I may not have time to back to some of these kits.
Threads/forum reviews of some kits will be posted in a couple of days.

Added to the list:
- Patriot Viper Blackout 64GB DDR4-3600 CL18 - Hynix M-die / maximum OC around DDR4-4133 CL19 1.45V
- added Patriot Viper Steel 64GB DDR4-3600 CL18 review - Hynix M-die / maximum OC around DDR4-4133 CL19 1.45V
- added Team Group Dark Pro 8Pack Ed. 32GB DDR4-3600 CL16 - Samsung B-die / maximum OC limited by the motherboard around DDR4-4133 CL18 1.50V (will be retested on another motherboard)
- added GoodRAM IRDM Pro 32GB DDR4-3600 CL17 - Hynix C-die / maximum OC around DDR4-4000 CL19 1.45V

Two more Samsung B kits on the way but results are expected as this IC is on the market for a long time.

More as an info as I won't have time to make forum reviews.

Team Group VulcanZ 2x8GB DDR4-3600 CL18-22-22-42 - Samsung K4A8G085WC-BCTD
Don't be excited seeing this memory in reviews as software like Thaiphoon Burner recognizes IC as B-die while it isn't.
Max OC 3600 CL16-21-21 1.40V. Crashes at anything above 3600 regardless of timings or voltages. Tested at CL18/20 and up to VDIMM 1.65V.

Patriot Viper4 Blackout 2x8GB DDR4-4400 CL18-26-26 - Samsung B-die, new series from last month
Good Samsung B bins. Run up to 4933+ CL18 1.50V or something like 4533 16-17-17 1.45V 1:1 on Ryzen 4650G. I have 2 kits and both run exactly the same.

HyperX Impact 2x16GB DDR4-3200 CL20-22-22 1.20V SODIMM - Micron E-die
Can't check OC on my laptop. SPD is locked, XMP can be programmed via software but again, my laptop doesn't support it.

Added Viper 4 Blackout 16GB DDR4-4400 CL18-26-26-46 1.45V to the list.

In short, well known Samsung B. Overclocks great and it's one of the cheapest DDR4-4000+ memory kits on the market. Clearly a good deal.

I was able to set DDR4-4933 CL18-17-17 1.60V on X570/B550 what was passing longer tests (multiple 3D, PCMark 10, rendering etc.).
Here is one screenshot from AIDA64.

4 memory modules are a bit tricky and it's not only about this specific memory kit. 4x8GB DDR4-4400 works only on higher motherboards like MSI X570 Unify. All cheaper motherboards couldn't run at more than DDR4-4133. Just info if anyone wants to grab 2 kits as this memory is sold as 2x8GB only.

2 reviews added to the list:
- Silicon Power XPOWER Turbine RGB 32GB DDR4-3600 CL18-22-22 - Hynix IC (rebranded, TB can't read IC correctly), runs up to DDR4-4200 CL18-22-22 1.45V or DDR4-3800 CL16-19-19 1.45V
- Patriot Viper Steel RGB 64GB DDR4-3600 CL20-26-26 - Micron (rebranded but probably lower binned B or E-die, TB can't read IC correctly) runs up to DDR4-3800 CL18-22-20 1.40V

Team Group Zeus 2x32GB DDR4-3200 CL22 1.20V - good for laptops without XMP support
Probably Hynix MFR - recognized the same as kits with Hynix MFR and it's also scaling the same way, rebranded chips and Thaiphoon Burner is not showing full ID

Zeus64GB_SODIMM_pht6.jpg

Can play some with timings tweaking but only down to CL20-20-20 because of the 1.20V limit. At 1.35V it should run at CL16.

I also have Team Group Dark FPS 2x8GB DDR4-4000 CL16-18-18 1.45V - Samsung B, quite good bin, about the same as TridentZ Neo DDR4-3600 CL14. I will try to add some tests soon.

3 or maybe 4 threads with new memory kits will be added soon. I will try to present how they overclock but if you have any specific requests then please let me know earlier as I have limited time for tests.

Reviews as below were added to the list:
- Acer Predator Apollo 16GB DDR4-3600 CL14
- Silicon Power Zenith 32GB DDR4-3600 CL18
- Team Group Dark Z FPS 16GB DDR4-4000 CL16
- Team Group Zeus 64GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM
- HyperX Predator 16GB DDR4-4600 CL19 (older review but somehow forgot to add it earlier)

Patriot Viper Elite II 16GB and 32GB DDR4-4000 in the queue for tests.

ADATA D50 ROG Edition 2x8GB DDR4-3600 CL17-21-21 1.35V in tests, or even done.
In short:
3800 CL16-19-19 1.45V or up to DDR4-4600 CL18-26-26 1.55V with Ryzen 5900X. Somehow, it doesn't even boot at DDR4-4666+ up to 1.6V.
Under the heatsinks is Hynix DJR.

I guess that soon I will start adding DDR5. So far, even though some vendors promised samples, then most report problems with availability or marketing budget, so it may take some more time.

I wasn't updating this thread and since there were changes on the forums then I had to correct some links and fonts. If there are any issues with links/reviews then please let me know.
I also added these reviews to the list:
  • Patriot Viper Elite II 16GB DDR4-4000 CL20 - Hynix D
  • Patriot Viper Elite II 32GB DDR4-4000 CL20 - Hynix D
  • Acer Predator Talos 32GB DDR4-3200 CL16 - Samsung D
  • Crucial Ballistix (red) 32GB DDR4-3600 CL16 - Micron B
  • Kingston Fury Renegade 16GB DDR4-4600 CL19 - Hynix D (tested as 2x8GB and 4x8GB)
  • ADATA Spectirx D50 ROG Certified 16GB DDR4-3600 CL17 - Hynix D
  • Kingston Fury Beast 32GB DDR5-5200 CL40 - Micron

Right now I'm testing G.Skill TridentZ 5 32GB DDR5-6000 CL36-36-36 1.30V / Samsung IC

Two new memory kits were added to the list:
  1. Patriot Viper Steel Low Latency 16GB DDR4-3600 CL14 1.45V - PVS416G360C4K
One more Samsung B kit, this time (finally) lower latency series from Patriot. I wish they released it 2 years ago ;)
  2. Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB DDR5-6200 CL36 1.30V - CMT32GX5M2X6200C36
Hynix M based DDR5 kit with quite good OC potential. I wanted to add that the price is reasonable but let's say it is ... if we compare it to other DDR5 kits ;)

Soon I will add:
  • Patriot Viper Steel LL DDR4-4000 CL16 / Samsung B
  • G.Skill Trident Z5 DDR5-6400 CL32 / Hynix M
  • ADATA XPG Lancer DDR5-6000 CL40 / Samsung B
One more DDR4 kit should be on the way but the Chinese New Year delayed shipping. There will be also two new DDR5 kits that should be released in about 2-3 weeks. Maybe I will get an early review sample.

Today I added 3 new kits to the list:
  • Patriot Viper Steel LL 16GB DDR4-4000 CL16
  • ADATA XPG Lancer 32GB DDR5-6000 CL40
  • G.Skill TRident Z5 32GB DDR5-6400 CL32

Nothing else is in the queue for now but I will try to add some more DDR5 results at tighter timings and higher voltages.

HP V10 RGB 2x8GB DDR4-3600 CL14-15-15-35 1.45V added to the list.
It's a Samsung B kit which can do whatever other higher binned Samsung B kits can do. At 1.55-1.60V it looks about like below:
- 3600 CL13-13-13
- 4000 CL14-14-14
- 4600 CL16-17-17
- 4800 CL18-18-18

Hello mate, amazing thread I must say

Have you ever tested out "G.Skill 32GB (2x16GB) Trident Z 3200MHz DDR4 ( F4-3200C14D-32GTZSK ) | XMP Rated timings are 14-14-14-34 @ 1.350V"
Should be Dual Rank B-Die right?

I am on ASRock Z690 Extreme and using that DRAM + Intel i7 12700K .....wondering what I can do with it
Currently running just XMP Profile in BIOS but get 61ns with AIDA Latency test, feel like it should be much better but what do I know haha.

Thanks!

Hey,

Your G.Skill kit is about the same as every other 2x16GB Samsung B. There are some kits on the list and one more will be added soon.
You can check the settings for any other Samsung B kit as single and dual rank kits have similar sub-timings. There is a lot of that on my list or around the web. At least every kit at 3200/3600/3733/3800/4000 CL14 is Samsung B. All 3600/3800/4000 CL15 are also Samsung B.

I was testing ASRock Z690 Extreme, but the same as some other Z690 motherboards, it couldn't even boot past DDR4-4266. It should be still fine for dual-rank kits as at least Samsung B can't really work at more than 4266-4400. I have one 4400 kit but barely any motherboard can handle it at XMP settings and it's not working above 4400 (it randomly boots at 4533 but isn't stable).

I could give you some special benching settings but they may not be stable and you don't really need it maxed out. The easy way to check tighter timings is to set your RAM at auto. It will run at 2133 but you need it only to read all the timings. BIOS should show them greyed out. Use these sub-timings manually at a higher frequency like 3600 (at least everything in the secondary timings list).
Use tREFI timing at as high as it can work like 64k. If you notice instability then lower it to 30-40k. By default, it's very low. This should help with the latency in AIDA64.

Now what you actually want on Z690 with the dual-rank kit is Gear1 mode at up to 4000. If it was a single rank then you could try 4600+ at Gear 2. ASRock Z690 Extreme should work at 3800-4000 Gear 1 but for me it couldn't work at command rate 1.
This is what I recommend checking (keeping in mind what I said before about other timings):
3600 14-14-14 1.45-1.50V
3600 14-15-15 1.45-1.50V
3733 14-15-15 1.45-1.50V
3733 15-15-15 1.45-1.50V
3800 14-14-14 1.50-1.55V
3800 15-15-15 1.45-1.55V
4000 14-15-15 1.50-1.55V
4000 14-16-16 1.50-1.55V
4000 15-16-16 1.50-1.55V
4000 16-16-16 1.45-1.55V

The typical easy setting will be 3600 CL14-15-15 1.45-1.50V, Gear 1 and it will probably work at command rate 1.
