can somebody confirm that with SP2 there is no more a WinXP home edition or Professional edition just a generic edition?

Cause I just read that on a forum but cannot confirm this!

Anyone got Home and SP2.... can you join a domain and have multi processors now? (2)

I've never heard that. They released SP2 for Home and Professional on different days so I assumed they were different updates. I've never heard that two are being combined.

you may be thinking of the fact that there is a generic boot screen. Now when boot either OS it doesn't say Windows Pro or Windows, it just says windows XP.

Like mentioned, it just gets rid of the "Home Edition" or "Professional Edition" on the boot-up screen - nothing more, nothing less.

It certainly doesn't make a Pro out of a Home edition!
