im planning to get another hdd, wud it affect oc ability? i wud have a 20gig 7200rpm for the OS, and my old 15gig to backup files...

It most likely won't. If you start getting corrupted files, then it is affecting you. The HDD runs off the PCI CLK, so as long as you keep it within specs, you should be fine. Usually a PCI card will effect you before a HDD. Eighter way, it will be evident if the HDD is at fault.
