THIS is NOT FOR A CPU HS/F!!

ok, now that I got that out of the way for those with itchy "reply fingers" ;)

My case only has room for a single 80mm fan for exhaust in the back and I have 3 case fans blowing in. So I wanted to get one of those adapters (80 to 120) and put a 120mm fan on the outside, back of my case (yeah, sticking out the back :bang head ) and I was just wondering if this is a dumb idea or if you guys think it will actually make a difference?

Thanks!

I think of it this way...Your still only going to get the 80mm holes capacity...You must increase the hole size to get the data thru the bus...
My nickles worth...;)
Do you have room for a 92mm fan?

92 Millimeters equals 3.62205 Inches

No, I really don't even have room for 92mm:-/

I know its not going to perform as well as a 120mm fan on a 120mm hole, but would it be better than THIS 80mm fan I have in there now? I was thinking about one of those chrome evercool 120mm's instead...

Looks like you have room for 2, 80mm fans back there...:D

That will give you 64 cfm total rear exhuast...

SilverStone Premium 80 mm Case Fan
Fan Dimension 80x80x25 mm
Fan Speed 2000 rpm
Fan Airflow 32.4 CFM

i chopped out the restrictive fan grille on mine, and drilled holes to mount a 92 where the single 80 was built to the back. i'm soon going to see if i can mod the 92mm hole for a 120mm.

i'll let you know how that goes.

Yeah, and over 40db of noise too:(
I like quiet

Plus, cutting up that steel in the back of my case is not something I would be looking forward to doing, blegfh

I've also already removed the "restrictive fan grill" too.
