8K3A+ and Highpoint

I have 2 40 gig 120GXP's that I am playing with until my WD1200JB gets back from RMA.
using sandra as a quick benchmark.
1 drive on IDE0 - 25meg/sec
1 drive on Highpoint 23.5meg/sec
Raid 0 stripe(128K) 26.5 meg/sec


what's the point of raid 0 I tried georges patch and that is what got me to 26.5.

I can't seem to download the VIA raid patch from anywhere.
VIA arena has a broken link.

is it the highpoint or is it just that raid 0 does not help as much as I thought.


Win 2K sp3 and 4.40 4-in-1 drivers.

Sandra is one of the worst choices for HDD benchmarks. Search ATTO in the forums & you will find a link to DL it. That will give you a more realistic assesment of your HDDs performance.
