So I am getting ready to build a new gaming rig... obviously SLI has been in my mind. I know some people hold the belief that SLI isn't all it's cracked up to be. I think I read somewhere that you can gain a potential 30% performance increase.
My question is this... should I toss in 2 XFX 7900 GTs 256MB (UDD 560/1650) or save a little money and put 1 XFX 7900GTX Extreme 512MB 690/1750 ? Would the SLI configuration have a much bigger performance increase over the single GTX.
These are the other components I am planning to put in the rig....
Case - Antec SuperLanBoy
PSU - OCZ 600W Powerstream
RAM - 2X1GB sticks OCZ DDR400 Platinum LL
Mobo - Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe
CPU - AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+
HD - WD Raptor 74GB 10k RPM
HD2 - WD Cavier 250 GB SATA II
Any thoughts / suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks
