Another DLL problem.

My moms computer has an error everytime its started. Says DSOUND.DLL not found. Clicking OK on the pop-up clears it out, but nothing sound-wise seems to be not working. Its an older COmpaq Presario 5150 AMD-K2/350 with Win98SE. Would the quick restore disk fix that without losing any saved data or updats? It just all of a sudden started doing this about 2 months ago.

Try to reinstall the drivers for the sound card. The drivers should be on the restore disk or you can download them from http://www.pcdrivers.com/sound.htm .

Reinstall DirectX, because that's the DirectSound DLL.
