Well I kinda have an answer now because I asked my friend about why you would need more than 1 LED. He says that Antec planned it to be kind of a mini server and servers use SCSI. Some SCSI drives have the ability to let you hook up LEDs to em so you know that they are either functional or being used. My maxtor D740Xs have little LEDs on the PCB that flash as the drive is being accessed.
