I have two loves with my computer – Benchmarking and LAN partying. Belive it or not, they don’t get a long with each other too well because I like to have my computer “out” on the motherboard box when I bench – so I can get at the board easy should need arise.

My Antec 900 is a beautiful case, with the SLi though – the room inside gets a little tight.

Im now looking into open top benchmarking stations and are portable.

really, the only two models I have found that really fit when im looking for. Has anyone around used or seen this kinda case?

If so, please post your opinions.

Thank you.

Never liked the price on their "solutions". They also looked like they'd fall apart if you looked at them hard enough.
So, I made one that's sturdier than theirs...simple to add a carry handle to as well.
This has been a while ago, but you'll get the idea from the back view. The decks are 1/4" plexiglass with the same paint on them as the tubes (duplicolor metalcast).
It's all soldered copper tubing that's very sturdy with just one crossover between the two sides (bottom front).

My watercooling is external, and has been for years. You could add as many tiers as you wish to include your own too.

Diggrr have you got any photo's of the build or plans showing the dimensions used, this would make a great thread showing your build awesome job definately better than the ones above.

i would love to build something like this, but i don't have any of the tools and/or knowledge to do a build. i have zipties... thats about it. :)

I like the look of the Danger Den one as it is ready for a 2x120mm rad if you water cool. The clear look is cool too.

Unfortunately no. That's ages ago, with my old Abit KT7A-Raid and my 1200+ when it was new. Broke a stripe and lost the pics (except what was on my FTP).
I was told once that plans are for engineers, but art is created as you go.
I try to stick to that, so I'm not much help to ya there....

I had nothing but hand tools. You can borrow them.
I used a torch for soldering (for which you can substitute JBWeld and avoid the fire), and the copper flashing that makes up the drive cages was bent over the edge of my desk and gently hammered. That took a day alone.
You'd be surprised what you can do, go surprise yourself.

That DD one sure is purty, but the plexi sides restrict what you can do in there....working with two hands in a box is like working in handcuffs.

I've never been a fan of those kits, especially with the expense. I checked out the Tech Stations at Microcenter and they're so damn cheaply made in materials that they should literally cost a third of what they do.

I also like how they conveniently show the components placed in without any drive or PSU cables. If you decide to go with one, plan to do a little modding/cable management to keep it looking decent. Things are kind of a mess unless you do.
