(Sorry if this sounds as if im being stupid)

Winbond is a major manufacturer for high grade research equipment.
They recently dabbled in the DDRAM buisness. Their *superior* techniques have allowed them to create 3(4) infamous DDRAM types:
The first was BH6. It was the first *true* low latency RAM. It ran at 6ns (PC3200) using the impressive timings of 2-2-2-11
Its manufacturing process was quite expensive for that RAM, so they decided to up the speed gradient to maximize profits.
Thus the wildly populat BH5 was borne. BH5 is 5ns (PC3500) and uses 2-2-2-11 as well. However the improved process allowed it to take *INCREDIBLE* amounts of stress.
Real world tests show that BH5 is fully capable of handeling 3.6v for everyday use
However profits were still to low... so they split into 2 venues...
The high end would be BH4.. but they never released it. Initial test samples (from what Ive heard) would do 250mhz 2-2-2-11 @ 2.4v (which is f*ing amazing). However they never went into production
The low end would be CH5... or BH5's replacement. CH5 is *considerably* cheaper to make, but is unable to run at 2-2-2-1... it can only run @ 2-2-3-11. Also the process lacked the ability to soak voltage like BH5. In fact it HATES voltage.
Unfortunatly Winbond continues to lose money...thus they stopped ALL production. They are forever done with the DDRAM buinsess
Thats the WB deal in a nutshell
You must be a teacher, that was beautiful... lol *sniffs*
So why doesnt Winbond close all production BUT the BH-5 chip RAM? Who cares if they lose money, oh yeah make it much lower in price too..... ( a dream come true .... )
