i have been having a problem with the c drive. It won't defrag and i cannot run chkdsk.I am sure there are errors on the disc because the defrag hangs and errors without running.when i use command promt to run chkdsk,i doesn't even come up on boot or says cannot access because it is in use.It is taking a really long time to boot up sticking on the win 2000 screen.any help would be appreciated.

Try running chkdsk /r from the Recovery Console...

To start the Recovery Console, start the computer from the W2K Setup CD or the W2K Setup floppy disks | Press ENTER at the "Setup Notification" screen | Press R to repair a W2K installation | Press C to use the Recovery Console | The Recovery Console then prompts you for the administrator password. ;)
