machine is on 24/7 and it's stable large p95, gets used for facebook and looking at an ftp site for work and that's pretty much it(well some small downloading)

This is a known Windows memory error, while running the v5.x GUI client with the GUI open while finishing and uploading a work unit. Workarounds include updating the video driver (doesn't always help), keeping the GUI closed near the end of a work unit, or switching to the console client and using a 3rd party utility to see the pretty pictures and monitor the client's progress.

It can also be caused by faulty memory or a bad memory controller, so you should consider both possibilities.

I don't think a bad core is the issue. It merely downloaded a new copy of the same v2.22 core, which is default behavior of the SMP client on 5 straight failures. It failed 5 different p6900s in a row, so there is a high probability it will fail the next p6900, whether it completes the p2685 or not. As spitter says ERROR 0xc0000005
is a Windows Memory error.


I don't think it's likely, but it is possible replacing the core will fix the issue (why would replacing the core be default behavior if it never made any difference?), but you have to ask why did the core become corrupt? Most of the reasons would be hardware related except, improper shutdown (red x, power failure, turning the machine off without a shudtown).

There are a number of reports of error 0xc0000029 here in the forum. If it only happens once or twice, there's a pretty good chance that it's a bug in Gromacs, itself, and we'll have to wait for the gurus at gromacs.org to figure it out. If it happens on a variety of WUs, then I'd look at hardware, but don't rush off in that direction just yet.

I shut it down until my buddy can do some mem testing, or I get down there and test it. I didn't even notice it failed 5 in a row(hfm just now started working and showed the most recent) He does download alot of large files for work and files for his brothers work(and the program they use for that takes alot of processing power/ram) that very well could be the reason for the failures(over working hardware???) It really stinks having units away from home where you can't get to them if you need to(quickly) I can't wait to have one or 2 here at the house folding away and close if needed.

I'll figure it out and let you know.(ps I p95 larged it for over 6 hours after clocking it and it never blue screened one time on me, or shot any errors out) so idk.
 
Intel burn in test, or linx are better stability tests for bigadv folding. If it can run just 5 times thru at max memory there is a good chance it will finish wu's.
 
OCCT is also better than prime 95 at finding stability problems that affect FAH.
