Hello,

I need some help. Its been a while since i was into this stuff.
So i got a asus rog x99 strix mobo, i7 6800k and the g.skill tridentZ DDR4-3200.

I enabled XMP, then clocked the CPU to 4ghz with the asus AI suite 3.
A few hours later i checked the speed on the ram and it was running at 2666mhz.

If i check the XMP settings in the bios in the AI Tweeker it tells me if the RAM runs at 3200mhz then the CPU will run at 3800mhz
The ram cant run on 3200 mhz on every CPU speed? or is this the AI suite that messes things up

Check if memory has 2nd XMP profile. There is usually 1 but can be 2. If not then set it manually 100bclk and x32 memory ratio to get 3200. Main timings you can set also manually and sub timings will be adjusted automatically.

Thanks, will try when i get home from work.
so it should not be a problem to run the CPU at ~4ghz and the memory at 3200mhz?

I had no issues with that on 2 rigs. One runs with 5820K@4GHz stock voltage and memory @3200 15-15-15 ( mixed 3000 and 3600 kits on the same memory chips ).
