I noticed that for some reason the dvd drive on my new rig is reading dvds slower than my old rig and I cant figure out what the problem is.

My new rig is in sig except the cpu is running at 3.2ghz now. The drive is this sata drive: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16827151141

The old rig has a P4 running at 2.53ghz with an old samsung ide hdd running at 5400rpm and a sony DRU810A dvdrw drive.

I tested both of the systems using the same dvd to test the ripping and the cleaning speed using ripitforme.

The new rig took 13:27 to rip and 1:23 to clean for a total of 14:50.
The old rig took 7:35 to rip and 4:20 to clean for a total of 11:55.

Both of the dvd drives are suppose to read at the same speed so I cant figure out why the new one is reading so much slower.

Any help is very appreciated.

Does that apply to sata drives? I ask cuz I cant seem to find that field in the device manager.
