I can't get a very good overclock

I'm on a Gainward Golden Sample G4 MX440.

The GS mem is rated at 500MHz from what I've read, and even with a crystal orb and ramsinks I'm getting funny stuff on screen at 290/495.

I have fast write and sideband disabled. Any advice?

And the golden samples come at 290/440 rather than a stock MX440 at 270/400. Only 50MHz on the mem, that's crap!

Maybe that's just as far as that ram will go. I've had video cards that i couldn't get more than 20MHz on the Ram, but on an identicle card i could get 50-60MHz. It all depends. The cards are only meant to do what they are rated for. Any overclock is considered a bonus

If you really wanted to push it, maybe watercooling might halp the ram?
