Okay, I'm stumped. My problem, in short, is that I can't seem to get my FSB any higher than ~250mhz no matter what. I'm running an Opteron 148 (CABYE) with an Asus A8N-E. I have 2x1gb Geil PC3200.

Things I've tried:

CPU multiplier to 6, 10, 10.5, and 11
CPU voltage of 1.5
HTT multiplier to 3, 4, and 5
RAM to 400,333, and 266 mhz
RAM timings of 2-3-3-6, 3-4-4-8, and 3-7-7-15
RAM at 2t and 1t
RAM voltage of 2.9
Locking PCI to 33mhz
Locking PCI-e to 100mhz
Combinations of all the above

I've tried fiddling both in BIOS and in Windows (clockgen and nTune). I was using BIOS 1008, now am using 1001. Asus Update won't install anymore, so I can't use that, either.

What gives? I know I should be able to get my FSB to ~300.

Thanks! :)

hi
to get the max htt from your mobo
1-first drop to cpu multiplyer to 6 or 7x(to take the cpu out off question)
2-then drop the memory frequency devinder to 100mhz( to take memory out off question)
3-drop your ht muliplyer to 3x or even 2.5x

then press the magique save and exit
try to increse the htt in slow step eatch time by 5 mhz boot in windows then restart intil you find the max
after finding the max u can start working in the cpu incresing the multiplyer
and then in the memory uping the devinder
good luck
