it failed prime 95 instantly but it seems to be running 100% stable

Probably not stable. Happens to me alot where it seems stable testing it one way but not another. prime95 works fine but it locks in 3dmark or something. I usually use multiple tests because of that.

i think the opposite, ive tried hot cpu tester and it will pass the certificate just swell, then i try prime 95, and it wont last more than 10 min without displaying an error. I say that if you get an error in prime 95 before completing 12 hours of torture test, loose a little that overclock, or isolate the components by doing some other tests and replace. I find that prime95 is the perfect tester for cpu/memory, hot cpu tester is for cpu only and memtest x86 is for memory only.
