I'm looking for a new 24" monitor that could produce very accurate color and being sharp!! my current Westinghouse 24" isn't producing sharp image (pictures look fuzzy) nor correct color (even after calibration). My main usage for it is for photographic use; therefore, I need a monitor that will produce accurate color and sharp image!!

I love the monitor on my unibody MacbookPro, it produces sharp and correct color on my photography.

I like the 24" LED Apple monitor, but it's just a bit too expensive for my taste! Is Dell's new 24" U2410 being one of the best picture quality monitor out there besides Apple's displays?? The specs of the Dell looks pretty good (especially it stated all unit will be factory calibrated to sRGB spec before shipping!).

What do you guys think??

I personally have heard glowing reviews (especially in the area of sharpness) of the Dell 2409w, and I plan on buying one on boxing day to replace a 19 inch Syncmaster.

pretty much anything that doesn't have a TN panel is what you want.

The dell u2410 is a decent monitor with a good s-ips panel. I use 2 2008WFPs which are basically last years model. Solid monitors with good color reproduction. Samsung, NEC and Apple also have nice panels. (except you'll pay more for apple). Coming from a westinghouse the difference will be night and day.

With that said, the above is still sort of middle of the road in quality. If you really need accurate color reproduction, you need to look to LaCie and Eizo monitors. They're quite expensive, and that's why I don't have one. But if it's for professional use and you can afford it, it's the way to go.

Do you have any particular model for samsung, nec, or anything with non-TN panel that you would recommend or I should take a good at??

HP has a very nice 24ich H-IPS LCD. Also look for NEC's new 16:9 1080P E-IPS monitor. Great price for what you get.

I have one (the HP LP2475w) and I like it very much. The Dell U2410 is also a monitor to consider. However, you should read about these monitors prior to making your decision because the IPS panels have known tinting issues.

I can speak for the Dell S2409W - its the best LCD I've ever owned but I've never used it in your situation...just gaming and porn
