Hi, I just bought an MSI 890FXA-GD70 motherboard and so far so good. This board has a debug LED panel which shows CPU temp once booted up and running. How accurate is this? The LED panel reads about 6 degrees higher than Core Temp. Which one do I believe?

The LED panel is reading a sensor from the motherboard socket area ("CPU temp") while CoreTemp is reading from a sensor actually embeded in the processor die itself, or "core temp" even though CoreTemp labels it "CPU Temp" on its user interface. CPU temp and core temp normally will not be the same. With stock oem cooling the core temps are typically a few degrees higher than CPU temp and with a good aftermarket tower-style air cooler the core temps usually read a few to several degrees lower than CPU temps.
