Hey all, I've been out of the game for awhile. I am trying to get to a stable 24x7 4.9 or 5.0 ghz OC on my 2700k. I just built the rig yesterday and it would appear i've got it stable at 4.8 Ghz (Ran prime95 for 6 hours), a few times it did get to 80c, but it mostly stays in the high 60's low 70c. I am running the blend test.

Intel Core i7 2700k w/ Noctua NH-DH14 w/ stock fans
Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z
8GB (4GB x 2) G.Skill Ripjaw X DDR3 2133 @ 1.65v 9-11-9-28
EVGA GTX 590 Classified
OCZ 1250 watt psu
OCZ Agility 3 240GB SSD
Corsair Obsidian 800D case
(3) Top 120mm Exhaust Fans
(1) Rear 140mm Exhaust Fan
(2) Bottom intake fans (120mm + 140mm)
(1) 120mm intake fan for hard drive cage

Loaded overclock optimal bios defaults

and

CPU
100 x 48 @ 1.360 volts = 4.8 Ghz
Overvolt settings have been disabled

Memory
Stock 1.65V
DDR3-1600 (can't get it stable any higher even though its rated for DDR3-2133)

When I try to increase to a 49 multi to try for 4.9 Ghz I get into windows but prime 95 crashes with a 101 code blue screen of death, from what i've read that usually means increase the voltage a little. I tried the following voltages but they did not stick, when the system boots, it defaults back to the previous 1.360 volt setting i was testing 4.8 Ghz with. I tried:

1.365 - 1.410v (trying every setting with an increment of .005)

I know I can get the bios higher cus in my testing I tried 1.385v @ 4.6ghz and that was stable. Am I missing a bios settings or am I at my limit? I know others mentioned adjusting some over voltages, PLL and a few others I think, i forget the name.

Or is the simple answer I am at my limit for my stable OC? Any thoughts? It's either something silly or I am at my limit.

Also, what are your thoughts on the temp? I am using Arctic Silver 5 and I used the long grain rice method, felt they were a little high @ 4.8ghz w/ 1.360v so I redid it with the pea sized blob in the middle of the die. I think it is running a few C cooler, but not really noticeable. I am confident the application is good.

Post away, thanks :)
