Hello!

Im an aspiring digital artist and im building a new pc.

I dont have enough money for any decent firepro or quadro GPUs.

So, what do you guys think about these 3 GPUs for about 300$?

ATI 7870
ATI 7950
NVIDIA 660 TI

Or any other you might suggest too!

Ill be working with zbrush, 3ds max, maya, photoshop mostly!

Out of those three, 7950 is the best card. If you had a few extra $, GTX 670 is worth considering, but close to that price is also the 7970 then.

Nah unfortunately I dont have that extra 100$ atm.

So that CUDA vs OpenCl/GL thing is not imporant anymore? Cause I heard lots of folks talking about that in some forums.

+1 the ATI 7950 is the best one.:popcorn:

If your going to use programs that support CUDA go with GTX 660TI

At least for Adobe, CS6 technically had equal support for both...but it seems like CUDA And NVIDIA still works better. I'd go for a 660Ti or 670 for your uses.

But do CUDA's benefits so much over ATI's extra 1gb from 7950?

Cause remember that 7950 has 3gb while 660 ti 2gb.

Does vRAM help a lot in Photoshop? At least in gaming, 2GB is enough for single monitor, but i don't know how intensive Photoshop is on it.
