This is what I have so far, minus the actual case. I need to build a budget system that allows me to use an AGP card, and I need to order it tonight! I am also re-using parts (drives, monitor, videocard, KB/M, OS) from an older computer to complete the system. Are there any conflicting parts with the following?

PS: Please suggest different parts in the same price range, if you have any in mind. This will NOT be an overclocking system for at least a while. I'm going to have to wait to see what that Venice can really do.

Thank you very much for your time.

:)

looks good, what video card are you gonna be using?

I'm going to slap my old XFX 6600GT AGP in it.

I'm building it for my fiance who really only wants to play the Sims 2 at best settings, but I think I'll install Far Cry on there while I'm at it.

yeah 400watts should be plenty to run that i think. Word has it that FSP/Sparkle are solid power supplies so you should be good in that sense. Good luck!

you can put cheaper ram in there, if you want i guess
otherwise it looks good

Thanks, folks. :)

Since this board supports both AGP and PCI-E, should I anticipate problems with a mid-tower case allowing to install either videocard? In other words, do mid-tower ATX cases have slots in the back for each type of card?

I built practically the exact same computer as you for my girlfriends family, it has an fx5500 256MB and will play doom 3 on 1024x768 medium settings! Only cost $569.00 in total too. It's excellent.

Its still the same slot on the back of the case. That board pretty much has the standard amount of pci/agp/pci-e slots, so it shouldn't be any problem. System look solid. As long as you aren't oc'ing (you didn't say you weren't, but I'm assuming since its not for you alone that it wont be) you might as well put value ram in. The performance difference is negligable, but the price difference isn't.

I didn't have a problem installing this in a mid-tower.
