is it ok to turn the power on in my system without the processor and ram on it? i dont have a processor and ram for my most recent system i am building and i would like to turn it on to see how fans and such are working.

If you do turn it on it will probably start but you will get no response from the computer at all. There is really no point.

wont my fans come on thought? that is all i want to do.

if the PSU comes on, yes the fans will start.

Most motherboards will not power on without a processor or memory. The most you would get is the lights might flash once and you may get a beep, but no your fans will most likely not come on. If the fans do come on it will only be for an instant, about 3 revolutions max.

Go ahead and try it. Nothing will be damaged, just nothing will happen.
