Ram advice for upgraded system

hi, like some advice on ram for my upgrade,

Asus A8V deluxe rev 2
3500 venice athlon 64
WD raptor 37 GB
maxtor 120 GB 8mb cache 7200
enermax coolergiant 480w atx 2.0
sapphire X800XTPE AGP
Audigy 2 ZS

i am looking at 1GB(2x512) Geil ultra platinum PC4400 because its very reasonably priced at the moment, but some reviews say its nots the best ram to buy for Athlon 64's as it more suited to P4 or intel, is this true?

I will be attempting a mild overclock as i want to be stable but run games like battlefield 2 on highest possible settings.

any recommendations for 1GB Ram around £130 mark?

Since you are planning to do mild overclock and will be doing gaming/BF2 I would suggest that you get 2GB 1GBx2 because 3500+ has high multiplier and you can always use dividers if that's not enough.
