The other day there was a post that had a link to an article with programs and info on changing some parts of the registry. Well it says if you change registry 52 to EB your idle CPU temps will go way down. When I try to change it, I enter EB but when I click set or press enter it changes itself to EC, and my temps haven't been any different. Can anybody help?

With a Tbird and Win98Se, you should not need to use that hack. On my system, running Win98se with my Tbird, the halt-on-idle works fine without it. Sitting there, doing nothing, what is your CPU temp compared to your system temp? If they are within something like 5C of one another, chances are you are already benefitting from halt-on-idle.
