Well after careful reconsideration I've decided to go with the sempron 2800+ cause it was on sale for only $47 CAD and alot of people say you can easily overclock to 2.3ghz+ with stock cooling. Ne ways I won't be upgrading this comp with high end stuff so s754 is fine. All the stuff I got I made sure they are all good for Ocing, however I am not sure if they are 100% compatible or even that good, so if ne1 wants to check for me that would be great.

I will be using my 19 inch widescreen lcd and monitor speakers that I aready have. And also using onboard video card till I can find a better deal.

That seems rather expensive for the setup, I know you are from canada but still, have you looked into what prebuilt you can get for that price or how much you can get a similar system for? If you look deep enough into what mobo the prebuilt uses you could prob flash it to enable overclocking.

no not really, I did try an athlon 64 setup and it went over my budget :(

this is like $450 in USD

ummm I tried a athlon 3500+ again, its on the weekly specials and the total is now $670 CAD:

would this be better?

edit: found a BFG GeForce 7600 GT OC PCI-E 256MB 128BIT GDDR3 Dual DVI HDTV Out SLI Ready Video Card 50% off! for only 130$ CAD

Core Clock 580MHz
Memory Clock 1450MHz

is this overkill for my system?

Yes that would be a much better rig and has a lot more upgrade potential than the s754 rig you showed us. That 7600GT is not overkill at all, it would be perfect for this system.

a moderate priced system that you want to be new and dont care about outdated would have

1GB RAM
S939 AMD athlon single core proccy
S939 Mobo (I suggest Asus a8N, which you like)
NVIDIA 7600 pcie gfx card
160GB HDD (you shouldnt need much more even if you do heavy gaming. The only reason mine is filled is because of Alcohol 120%)
Antec PSU and Case

should be around $700USD for those parts there, which is actually a pretty good price, and it would be easy to OC.
You could downgrade and be cheaper, but you'd risk loosing a LOT of compatibility, speed, and all out goodness.
